Lucian Michalak - Biography

Mirrors have been a part of daily life for the past 8000 years, yet they still retain the power to be special. They reflect a sense of everything about which we hope to be reassured, including the interiors where we wish ourselves to be comfortable.

Lucian Michalak blends art with mirror and light in an exceptional way. In Aurora he gathers two forms of light - the traditional chandelier and the natural light filtered through elegant windows - and replenishes both. In Kensington his theme could hardly be more welcoming - a doorway opening onto a balcony - through which the magic of Kensington Gardens can be imagined. Whereas Memento replicates the rooftop view from outside a tucked-away cottage in south London, in the gleam of old-fashioned lamplight. All mirrors are signed limited editions.

Lucian has been commissioned by private clients and has collaborated with designers and architects to create bespoke pieces for interiors of all kinds. He was born in Alexandrów Kujawski in the region of lakes stretching out from the river Vistula, but now lives permanently in London.

Ben Hawkes - Biography

Ben Hawkes uses found imagery and collage as a starting point, merging into digital drawing and painting, most often with a discernible ingredient of comic strip humour. The results make for a visual romp, but the beholder may equally be struck by a penetrating depth not at first seen, but hinted at. For this reason, Ben’s client list as a commercial artist comprises The Times, The Independent, Transworld publishers, and others including the BBC.

These works represent his first specially produced artworks in their own right.
